Comprehensive Juvenile Services (CJS) in Fort Smith offers emergency shelter at WAYS. It is available for youth whose behaviors or family circumstances cause them to be:
1. At risk of entering the juvenile justice system 2. Already in the juvenile justice system due to delinquency;
3. A member of a family in need of services (FINS) due to problems within the home or school which have brought them to the attention of the Juvenile Court.
The CJS mission is to serve the needs of western Arkansas youth and their families by providing intervention and advocacy services to Reduce Family Conflict, Promote Family Reunification, Prevent Juvenile Delinquency, Prevent Youth’s Entry or Further Advancement into the Juvenile Justice System and ultimately redirecting the lives of youth and families, empowering youth to become successful and productive adults.
