City of Faith, opened the first City of Faith halfway house, or Residential Reentry Center, in 1985 after a conversation with an inmate in a Louisiana State Prison. Since that conversatiom, she has opened 7 facilities, 3 federal and 4 state. City of Faith is contracted with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to operate work release programs for inmates servings the final phases of their sentences.
